Sweat Records hasn’t found a cultural niche it hasn’t wanted to curl itself nicely into. The little teal and purple record store that could has a book club, weekly movie screenings, a coffee bar, an associated clothing botique and roughly two dozen other things we don’t have space to mention. All those cultural gaps in our community found themselves filled with drops of Sweat, and now they’re adding a little bit of L-O-L to their varied array of entertainment offerings. Daniel Reskin, brother of Sweat proprieter Lolo, hosts the monthly comedy night Casa de HaHa, which will feature a roster of up and coming local indie comedians.

Afterwards they’ll also be screening classic bits of filmed humorous goodness on Sweat’s projection screen. Tonight’s event is pretty much a comedic free for all, but Daniel hopes to have theme nights in the future dedicated to sketch comedy, one liners, female comedians, and, appropriately for a record store, musical comedy. The event is free and starts at 8:30 pm. Visit Sweat’s official blog at sweatrecordsmiami.blogspot.com.
