No matter what ails you, the magical cocoa bean has the power to set you free from its stranglehold. Low sex drive, hypertension, munchies? The brown stuff has you covered. So today — and every day if you happen to have a friend named Willie Wonka with a factory — celebrate one of life’s sweetest guilty pleasures at the third annual International Chocolate Festival. This Saturday and Sunday, huddle around mounds of choco rock and learn how to cook it, grow it, and finally tell the difference between the superfoody dark and the I’m-not-really-chocolate white. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden will also be rife with tastings, lectures, and plant sales. But not a Hershey bar in sight.

Sat., Jan. 23, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Sun., Jan. 24, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., 2010
