From interior design to a blooming collection of floral arrangements delivered to your doorstep, Todd Oldham has demonstrated a sharp eye for cultivating beauty everywhere. The design guru, who is a mentor on Bravo’s Top Design reality show, has conjured his magic at the Wolfsonian with a distinctive exhibit.
This Tuesday at noon, catch “New Voices, New Works,” a series of site-specific pieces inspired by the museum’s collection and curated by Oldham. It features works by Megan Whitmarsh, Wayne White, and Brock Shorno. For her part, Whitmarsh created Trash Mountain, a towering pile of handmade garbage that examines her discomfort with the excess and disposability of modern culture. In what she calls a clash between “Oscar the Grouch and Claes Oldenburg,” the artist has filled the museum’s Bridge Tender’s House, which fronts the Wolf’s Washington Avenue façade, with her heap of half-baked refuse.
