Born and raised in the Germantown section of Philly, Amanda Blank isn’t just a girl. She’s a whole gang. Or at least she raps like it. Where most hipster spitters might invite a roomful of semifamous friends to guest on their A-side, Blank summons some kind of multiple personality disorder when a track needs texture. Take the three-minute blitz of “Might Like You Better,” the lead single off her debut album, I Love You — she seamlessly alternates among suburban girl cooing, hood chick flowing, and a bass-heavy demon growling. It’s cute, dirty, and dangerous all at once.

This Saturday, meet whichever Amanda Blank you want when she overwhelms Poplife at Electric Pickle with the multiplicity of her being. She’ll rap her way through that early Spank Rock shit, sing-talk you into bed, and then jumpstart the second coming with “Something Bigger, Something Better.”

Sat., Feb. 20, 10 p.m., 2010
