Keep Miami New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $7,500 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
You’ve seen the sign: No shirt, no shoes, no service. But each Friday at the Mandarin Oriental, they get a little tolerant of the “no shoes” part. Well, not the whole hotel — don’t tell them we told you to walk unshod through the gorgeous lobby. Only at the Moroccan-theme Barefoot at Oasis can you kick off your Reeboks at one of the beach butlers and traipse across the sand to one of the oasis Moroccan day beds or a plush opium bed.
From 6 to 11 p.m., DJ Amalia will have the beach pumping while you’re noshing on a scrumptious menu of dim sum. And don’t worry about being outside on a chilly Miami night. There’ll be beach bonfires for you to roast marshmallows and warm your toes, and yummy cocktails like hot cocoa with peppermint schnapps to heat you from the inside out. For dinner or beach bed reservations, call 305-913-8358.
