It begins with the ritual slaughter of a virgin goat. Its blood flows off the edge of a machete forged in a fire stoked with biblical passages. Hunks of dismembered body parts stolen from local graveyards are demonized with evil passages from ancient thrash texts. The spectators pass a blood-filled cup till their teeth are stained red. And then the show begins.
When More Metal!!! impales Churchill’s Pub this Sunday at 9 p.m., you’ll experience murder, mayhem, and total annihilation — of your ear drums. It’s actually just a bunch of kids — and old people who act like them — having fun with loud, fast music. Witchaven from Los Angeles will play alongside the Panix, Music Hates You, Gorilla Pussy, To Be Hated, Slashpine, and Hellmass. Expect growling, screeching, distortion, a mosh pit, beer, whiskey, smoke, and a good time.
