The Lion King hogged most of Miami’s theater headlines this month, but Siudy Between Worlds/Entre Mundos, the next show on the calendar at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts (1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami), will take over with a bang. If flamenco dance and urban rhythms had a baby that was adopted by the folks from the stage show Stomp — remember all that ground-breaking percussion? — and raised by a nanny obsessed with the film Mad Max, this show is what it would look like. Avant-garde flamenco dancer Siudy Garrido and 22 fellow international dancers and musicians in fantastic getups will transform the stage into a futuristic world, populated by survivors of a climatic catastrophe. Two tribes — one flamenco, one urban dance — go at it in a mashup involving intense, pulsating drum beats and multimedia backdrops with an electrifying light show. It’s been called “flamenco fantasia.” And because water is the ultimate commodity the tribes are fighting over, the performance climaxes in a rainstorm.
