He’ll make you do things you don’t wanna. Things to which you always said, “Nuh-uh, I’m not gonna.” Agree to participate in his show and hypnotist Rich Guzzi will have you eating out of the palm of his hand. And quite possibly, literally. Calling himself “a cross between Tony Robbins and Tony Soprano,” Guzzi uses his New York “charm” to coax you into submission while an audience leers at your out-of-body experience. No fear — his act is also part self-help/motivation session. So after you wake up with your head on some random guy’s lap, he’ll help you figure out why you gravitate toward man-crotch and motivate you to do better next time.
This Thursday through Sunday, catch Guzzi’s show at the Miami Improv and either watch and laugh or participate and be shocked at the things you’ll do when a hypnotist snaps his fingers. Saturday’s shows begin at 8:30 and 10:45 p.m. Tickets cost $16.05, not including the theater’s two-drink minimum.
Nov. 5-8, 8:30 & 10:45 p.m., 2009
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,750 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
