Born in Cuba, trained in Russia, chops earned in New York City, violinist Alfredo Triff now calls Miami home, though his trio has such a melange of styles, they could probably call anywhere home. Made up of Daniel Ponce on congas, Alex Berti on bass, and Triff on violin, the Alfredo Triff Trio has a laid-back sound that wouldn’t have felt out of place in the West Village circa 1957.

Joining them tonight–and adding to that mid-century downtown aesthetic–are spoken word poets Adrian Castro and Rosie Inguanzo and singer Robert Povedo.
