Some celebrity siblings carve out their own section of the spotlight, while others are comfortable warming their career in the spotlight cast on their more famous kin. Don’t confuse Tony Rock with members of the second group, because the only footsteps he’s followed in are very funny ones. Yes, his big bro is one of today’s undisputed kings of comedy, and yes, they share similar teeth and foreheads, but Tony is royalty in his own right.
He had us rolling on the floor week after week when he invaded our TV screens as perpetual single guy Dirk Black on the now-cancelled All of Us, and does the same as the current host of TV One’s The Funny Spot. You might have gotten used to seeing him from your couch, but how about some face time with the Rock boy himself? Sunday is the last night to catch him at the Miami Improv, and admission is only $16.05. Yeah, there’s a two-drink minimum, but there’s no minimum on the laughs. The show starts at 8:30.
