Grandfather New Times taught us how to play a mean game of dominoes — from our strategically sneaky smile to the way we slam the last piece down, shaking the table and our opponent into submission. And tonight we’re taking our shiny domino suitcase — the one with the secret compartment — to the Miami Beach Convention Center to compete against more than 2000 of Miami’s doministas for Miami Celebrity Domino Night. The event benefits Amigos for Kids, and that means some hard-core domino playin’. It’s for the kids, man!
“For us, domino night is an evening of domino playing among many friends — amigos — from our community, all coming together for a great common cause,” says Rosa Plasencia, executive director of Amigos for Kids. And if the thought of our presence has you too shook to play, you can still enjoy dinner from Miami’s top chefs, an open bar, and a silent auction. The tables get slapped beginning at 8:00.
