Sure, DJ sets at clubs are fun. But DJ sets inside convention centers are more fun. Especially when you’re covered in someone else’s sweat and buckets of nontoxic paint while rolling face with your absolute favorite mix-masters. This Friday, Benny friggin’ Benassi, Diplo, and motherflippin’ R3hab will bring the noise, beat freaks. Those three EDM studs are set to take over the Miami Beach Convention Center for Life in Color (formerly Dayglow), “the world’s largest paint party.” But that’s not all: Life in Color will also feature an opening set by the winner of a DJ contest. We’re not sure who it’ll be, but Life in Color owner Paul Campbell guarantees someone gnarly and creative. “I expect people to either do quick mixes and show their technical skills, drop some originals, or show off their original mashups so they would stand out amongst all the other mixes,” Campbell tells New Times. “Just being creative and fun should do the job.” So whether you’re a rookie pookie-head or a former frat bro with an affinity for dance music and a 9-to-5 job in the financial industry that frowns upon neon tank tops and boat shoes in the workplace, go get wet and messy with Life in Color.
