Today’s Farewell to the Orange Bowl celebration is the perfect send-off for the fabled stadium, where the OB will become The Battleground of Immortals one last time. The main event features a flag-football game between former Dolphins and Canes legends, including Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Mark Duper, and other greats. Once again, fans will see Marino cast thunderbolts across the sky. Once again, they’ll witness the luminaries of old grace the gridiron. Once again, they’ll have to wait 20 minutes in a putrid restroom before they can pee. It is a glorious day indeed!

The fete takes place at the Orange Bowl from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes an autograph session and a mini auction where you can bid for memorabilia like lockers, chairs, benches, turnstiles, and, yes, urinals. Even current Dolphin Jason Taylor plans to be a part of the festivities, saying, “I need to catch a pass from Marino before they tear this place down.” The day will be filled with nostalgia as Marino’s squad will look to give Jim Kelly’s team a good cock-punching for old time’s sake. So before this hallowed sports cathedral gets demolished, come watch the gods do battle once more. Also, remember to make room in your car for those urinals.

Sat., Jan. 26, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2008
