Local hero Udonis Haslem has shown himself again and again to be reliable, talented, versatile, and, perhaps most important, uninjured. But the Miami Heat has struggled much with the question of what to do at the other forward spot. Both Antoine Walker and James Posey have demonstrated ample skill, but mostly on offense, where the team is already strong thanks to a kid named Dwyane. Enter Jason Kapono. Also offense-minded, he put up nineteen points (more than triple his average) against Denver a couple of weeks ago. But Kapono is tough, a UCLA grad, and an excellent option at the three spot. And with Zo, or even Shaq, in the middle, it’s no big stretch to use any combination of the four forwards at any given time. Check out the new guy’s chops at 7:30 p.m. against Golden State at the American Airlines Arena. Tickets cost $10 to $350. Call 305-577-HEAT, or visit www.heat.com.
