Dwyane Wade is back to leading off headlines — “Wade’s heroics …” — and was recently named Sportsman of the Year by Sports Illustrated. But a better example of why the NBA and your Miami Heat are the coolest things going came a couple of weeks ago in a game against Phoenix. With the mighty Suns up by 22 and only eight minutes remaining, the Heat rattled off twenty quick points as the Suns foundered. Yes, the Suns ended up winning by ten, but what is remarkable is that the Heat’s outrageous near-comeback happened at the hands of little-used rookies (Chris Quinn, Robert Hite) and subs such as Michael Doleac at center. That’s what makes The Game such a hot ticket. And matchups like tonight’s against the colorful L.A. Clippers don’t hurt.
