Independent Journalism in Miami Needs You

We need to raise $10,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.

$10,000

Entering Su-Shin feels like walking into any westernized Japanese restaurant. A ceramic lucky cat perches happily on the countertop, and customers who really want to pretend they are in the Orient can sit barefoot for dinner in one of the traditional tatami rooms. What sets Su-Shin apart is the quality of food (which is excellent) and a great weekly deal on beer, that refreshingly great equalizer. Seriously, is there a country whose cuisine doesn’t wash down better with a cold brewski? Everything from spicy Jamaican jerk to British pub grub goes great with the stuff. From Sundays to Wednesdays beginning at 5:00, you can hoist your glass and cheer with free beer at Su-Shin. With the purchase of $15 worth of delicately tasty Japanese fare, customers are welcome to swig all the Amber Bock they can handle (emphasis on the word handle). Even better, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, Su-Shin hosts a happy hour that offers sushi for a buck apiece. Call 305-271-3235, or visit www.sushin.com.

Mondays-Wednesdays, Sundays, 2006
