Miami-Dade is one of the most sport-friendly counties in the nation, with more than 20 golf courses; innumerable baseball, softball, and soccer fields; as well as a plethora of professional sports facilities. With that in mind, the Miami-Dade Sports Commission works to secure sporting events that stimulate an economic payoff for the community year-round. You can find out more about how it all works today, when the Sports Commission hosts its 2008 Miami Sports Breakfast Series.
The sit-down consists of a four-part series featuring distinguished guest speakers, and highlights major local sporting events such as Dolphins season, the Ford Championships, Olympic development in Miami, and, for the golfers among us, this week’s CA Championship. NBC’s Willard Shepard will be the MC, golfing exec Ty Votaw will be on hand to answer questions, and notable athletes will be present, including a surprise celebrity golfer. Attendees will get an exclusive insider view of the industry, making the event a true networking opportunity. Breakfast will be held from 8 to 10 at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa. Individual tickets cost $45 for members, $55 for nonmembers. Call 305-818-7188 to reserve a table, or visit www.miamisports.org for more information about upcoming breakfasts.
