$7,500

A few times a year, we take a break from being critical and judgmental about the scene and throw our own events into Miami’s entertainment atmosphere. We know booze can’t lose, so Beerfest scores major points. But how do you feel about us getting Unzipped? If we strip away all the fancy words and rhetoric, and offer up some fashion instead, will you still love us in the morning? If we step out from behind our computer screens, shower, slick our cowlick to the back, and clap politely runway-side, will you trust us when we say, “Fuck the system”? No? Fortunately for fashionistas and the not-so fashionable, we’re doing it anyway. Saturday night from 9 to 11 at Midtown 4, there’ll be a mishmash of hot models in cool clothes, strong drinks with tasty bites, and catwalk-worthy music from DJ Black Jesus.

The level of chic will be in the red zone with sexy Brazilian tops and dresses from South Miami hot shop Le Jealous, drool-worthy baubles from Seo’s Jewelry, Marlin Mermaids rockin’ bikinis, one-pieces, and monokinis from Kristina Ashley’s latest line, and plenty more you’ll have to see for yourself. Don’t worry — there’ll be gratis beer, wine, and vodka for all of you who can’t bear to be sober around us. You’re welcome! Visit www.miaminewtimes.com for more info

Sat., Aug. 9, 9-11 p.m., 2008
