Committing murder usually results in arrest, sentencing, and a lifetime of trying to hold onto the fabled soap. But the Miami Beach Botanical Garden is putting the fun back into homicide with its Mystery on the Menu series. You won’t get any blood on your linen pants, but you might feel like a bona fide private dick this Thursday when actress and author Barbara Fox takes you on a killing spree called Cruising Is Murder. It is a completely interactive one-woman show; the audience reads lines, examines clues, and helps solve the crime. Consider it your turn to get your The First 48 on, only with fewer cortaditos from Enriqueta’s and no actual bullet-ridden corpses to pore over. The bloodshed begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $20 per person. Call 305-864-2430 to reserve your spot, Sherlock.

Thu., July 30, 7 p.m., 2009
