Stone Love Sound System, the trendsetting selector crew who pioneered the practice of pulling Jamaica’s top deejays and singers into the studio to whip up exclusive verses for their sets, will be mashing it up in South Florida this New Year’s Eve. But don’t be fooled. There is a group calling itself Stone Love that is not associated with Winston “Wee Pow” Powell’s organization. Club Life in Coconut Grove told New Times that Stone Love would be playing their venue on December 31, but Powell’s booking agent says that the real champion sound will be at Pepper’s Cafe.
