Hello, Miami! Our first hurricane of the season, Danny, is lurking somewhere east of the Windward Islands, but poses no threat to us — at least for the weekend. That means we get to celebrate good weather in our wonderful palm-tree-lined home before we're asked to stock up on bottled water and canned tuna.
Whether your idea of a good time is an extravagant brunch or a free candy bar, we've got it
Weekend (and potential hurricane party) starts now!

Mojito Cream Ale at Concrete Beach Brewery
You love mojitos. You love beer. That's a no-brainer when you live in Miami. Luckily, Concrete Beach Brewery is tapping its Mojito Cream Ale at the Social House. This smooth ale has hints of lime and mint and is the collaboration between the brewery and Florida Beer Blog's Dave Butler. Think of it as a refreshing Key lime pie in a glass. Pick up a pint (or two) this weekend.

7-Eleven's One Dollar Big Bites and Free Snickers Bars
If you're short on cash, don't worry, 7-Eleven's always got your back. The national convenience store chain is celebrating the Dog Days of Summer on Friday and Saturday by offering their quarter-pound Big Bite hot dogs for only one dollar. That's not all. On Saturday and Sunday, you can pick up a free Snickers bar just for asking. It's part of the chain's FREEkends promotion. We suggest walking in and saying, "Trick or treat," you know, just for fun.
That's a rock wall!

Naked Taco Party and Commercial Filming
If you're wondering what the hell is going on at Naked Taco, you've probably seen the 50-foot high rock climbing wall that was erected up the side of the Dream Hotel. That's for a Michelob Ultra commercial. While the shoot, happening on the rooftop on Saturday, August 22, at 7 p.m. is closed to the public, you can still party like a rock star at Naked Taco all evening with two for one Michelob Ultras, taco specials, and swag. As for the five-story rock climbing wall? Naked Taco's chef/owner Ralph Pagano says you're welcome to scale it — you just have to show proof you've got actual climbing chops — and sign a heck of a lot of waivers.

Moet Brunch at Seaspice
Everyone in Miami loves a good brunch with champagne. After all, there's nothing that says decadent weekend more than sipping on champers, while eating eggs. If you agree, come down to Seaspice on Sunday, August 23, for the Moët Ice Imperial brunch. The sexy waterfront restaurant will offer $115 bottles of Moët Ice Imperial, as well as by-the-glass specials. That pairs perfectly with lobster Benedict, Alaskan king crab Florentine, and baked shrimp and egg casserole. Pretty much the classiest way to spend your weekend.

Freddo Helado Makes Back to School Cool
It's time for back to school. The only way to make the sting of homework, cafeteria lunches, and PE class go away is a treat — and there's no better treat than ice cream (or helado to be exact). Freddo Helado is offering a back to school friends and family pack that includes one kilo of ice cream in four signature flavors — mixed berries, milk chocolate with almonds, peanut butter, and traditional semifreddo — for $16. This special offer will be available until Wednesday, September 30, in case your kids (or you) need the calming influences of helado more than once for a smooth transition into another school year.
