Have you seen it??? Oh my!!! Have you seen it? The race card?? Do it go in your pocket? Or in your wallet? Who made this term up? Who? Now I know that some cries of racism are not legit...but with the history and present state of America...it is very possible that it was racism..not always...but possible! So when a white person cries racism are they using that card too? Or do this only apply to non-white people blacks in particular??...I don't know what a race card is....I ask again who made up that dam term???....but I do know what racism is....now I've seen that!!

White guys got rims in the suburb and the city and baby mamas on handouts..have you seen Teen Mom? Or are those type of people not truly white. You don't count them huh? Projects? They are there too and their kids out of wedlock run around "da projects" barefoot with greasy hair. No lie you have to see it! I ride pass their in the summer. I've seen it! Are you mad because blacks are achieving the so called American dream now? But if blacks are racist I wonder where did they get that from???....ok let's see....your ancestors were slaves... your great-great grandfather was lynched for being black while walking home late one night...your great-grandmother was told that colored people have to use the back entrance because she's not worthy of coming through the front door because of her skin color...your grandparents were discriminated against when trying to buy a home in an all white neighborhood ...your father while at work had to endure racist jokes from his white coworkers...and to think that in 2012...comments on websites like these are still full of hate, racism, and ignorance that only reflect what is still occurring in today's society on every level...so here in America...if blacks are racist they've learned it from the best but that doesn't make it right!

It's very funny Hector that you think such ignorant nonsense....I work for an agency that provide health services for people that are discharged from the hospital/nursing home...services are based on income and lack of assets.... I enroll more white people for services than black people that I visit...know why? Because the black people that didn't qualify not only had higher incomes but more assets lived in lovely homes that they owned...while on the other hand....I didn't want to even sit down in the poor whites homes...who were on foodstamps Medicaid/Medicare...I just want you to know that in my line of work I've seen what you describe blacks to be...is also what I've found some whites to be....notice I said some...not ALL white people but you seem to think that your description and analysis applies to ALL black people..insecure racist!

Democrats want us to be dependent on the Federal Goverment such as welfare and other problems, and rob the working citizens on income tax/taxes in general. What about the working class who don't want to have welfare and want to work and feed themselves and not have to depend on the government. Maybe if they lowered taxes so the working people in this country can afford to feed their kids and themselves without dependency on the government. If people don't want to help themselves or truly try and just pop out kids they can not afford with no responsibility.

If you are going to make quotes, then make sure your quotes are factual. Percentages by race receiving welfare are as follows: Black 39.8%, White 38.8%, Hispanic 15.7%, Other 3.3%, Asian 2.4%. The fact that you want to reveal other percentages of races (inaccurately I may add), but not willing to reveal your own race... who's the racist? So, the Black race is still the highest race by percentage to collect welfare. Do the research yourself. Poor Luther Campbell, do you think because you are mindless that others are mindless as well and unable to do the research for themselves. You just make a fool out of yourself with that quote.

If we become upset at those who find Mormonism to still be racist or not racist, the dialogue stops and big questions will emerge that Governor Romney will not be prepared for.
The Governor himself has proved to be uncertain on many of the social issues that he has been asked about. In other words, outside of Mormon Racism, he has other mountains to climb.

I am perturbed by Mr. Campbells selective usage of facts. Throughout his article it's not the facts he used that moved me, but rather the other side of those facts that makes me curious. For instance, I having once been Mormon, know for a surety that he wholly neglects the fact that during the 70's the current Mormon Prophet (Their Pope) Had a "word from god" and that word was that the Black Man had been forgiven. They allowed Black Men to hold the full standing in their church over thirty years ago, including their very sacred Melchezidek priesthood. If white people take up 39% of welfare, and Hispanic 17%, what about the other 44%? Does it matter to Mr. Campbell that illegal aliens aren't counted, and that the hispanic people that are counted on the census will soon outnumber caucasian people? It is entirely possible that caucasian people are already an actual minority, if not on the census. He doesn't even bother to mention the percentage of black people on welfare, much less the ratio of people to wefare people. I'm more interested in the number of people on entitlement that previously put money into it and deserve it over who's on it. Illegals taking free money and healthcare should be deported first, on their home country's dime. I'm not really thrilled with any of my presidential choices, but I know which one is a devoted Anti-American, Muslim or not, who is destroying us from within. Mr. Luther Campbell, The Bahamas need you more than us. Why wait? Enjoy the $4 cans of Coca-Cola.

Mr. Campbell, I don't know who you are but found you by Googling a question representative, once again, of what's eating away at my hope for a better world "Is Romney racist?", subsequent to Googling "Are Mormons racist?". Why? I am just a dumb white Canadian senior sitting up here on the west coast of Canada overlooking a piece of the Pacific and a scattering of islands belonging to both countries - yours and mine. Like the rest of those talking heads with microphones and/or guns who label themselves Republicans, then add Christian as if that's important in an election to public office, there is something sinister, dark and foreboding in the tonal shift of Romney's voice when he utters the words "President Obama" it makes my friendly but protective little dog growl. This tonal toxic shift in voice is pumping the airwaves of daily life like recycled air in a crowded airplane. I do not recognize this world we live in today, but I do recognize that voice. The first time I encountered it was 1969 on my first road trip, with friends, from Toronto Canada to Florida. I had entered a diner somewhere in Dade County to order lunches to go. I could not understand why the black customers kept their heads down seated at the counter beside me, why the white customers seated along the windows were all staring at me until the white guy behind the counter - the owner I thought - pointed at me and waved me towards him as he spoke loudly enough for everyone to hear his mocking tone "whites don't get served back there, see the sign? only blacks". I remember I froze as if I had lost my footing; rage gripped me and I wanted to fight; big brown eyes staring back at me as if to say "run for your life". That's what I did.

First, your comment on Mitt Romney is wrong; that was never the position of the Mormon church. Second, George Romney, Mitt's father was one of the leading white politicians in the Civil Rights movement and took considerable heat over it at the time. He passed those values on to his son.

*groans* Not all Mormons are racist and not all racists are Mormons. And one of the facts that people tend to overlook about Joseph Smith and his running for president is that he purposed using funds from the selling of lands in the west to free all the slaves. That does not sound racist to me, in fact that sounds very equatable and fair. Sadly the idea was kicked to the wayside and the Civil War occurred.
It should not be forgotten that America has a history of racism as it is, it just doesn't reside just with Mormons or with any one religious belief. Don't forget it took the Southern Baptists till at least 1995 to renounce the concept that their was a separate heaven for blacks. But people tend to want to kick Mormons around because of the fact that's its ideas are different than how others tend to worship and believe.

I'm an active Mormon and the author's statement about my faith's view on African-Americans is simply is not true. One can cite obscure quotes from former church leaders about the reasons for withholding the Priesthood, but those were speculative opinions from well-meaning, yet misinformed individuals. It is true that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has never given an official reason for why the ban was in place. All I can say is that when the ban was taken away, it was one of the happiest times in church history, so much so that the declaration is one of the only two LDS scriptures canonized in the 20th century.
It is true that there are racist people which exist in all cross-sections of society, of which I am sad to admit members of my church are not immune. However, perpetuating an doctrinal teaching that is not true does not lead to greater understanding and peace among all of us as Americans.

What makes you think Ron Paul would put Black people in chains? He has said that if elected, he would free all people who are currently under the control of the Federal criminal system due to non-violent drug charges. This would free more Black people than the Civil War did.
And speaking of the Civil War, you claim that forcing slave owners to sell their slaves would not have changed the slave owners' beliefs about Black people. Did the Civil War change their beliefs? Please explain.

I hope the next president, balance our import/export, easy taxes for small/medium business, open immigration only for those with a skill that cannot be fulfilled by an american, make the benefits equal for everybody, e.g. pension available only for ONE wife, if your religion permits you have several wives the extras will be your own problem, open credit for small farmers, ( we import way too much vegetables) and I could point hundreds of other ideas.

I don't advocate for either party or candidate at the moment. But I do want to ask: Do you have proof that Mitt Romney was preaching this Mormon belief? I thought the same thing about a Mormon church that was trying to get us to join them. I know a little bit about the Mormon faith and although I think it's a joke, you have to admit that some of those people "got it together" much more so than Christians (I am a Christian) When I confronted them about this particular belief they told me their church does not believe in it, and that they distance themselves from sects of Mormons that do. So, How do you KNOW FOR A FACT that Mitt Romney was preaching this particular belief to others?
