Everymen at Propaganda July 8

This show celebrates the birthday of John Wylie, the owner of Aces High Tattoo Shop in West Palm Beach. He's also a South Florida and hardcore scene legend. And Wylie's tough-guy roots run deep — he played in approximately a million bands, most notably Morning Again and Where Fear and Weapons Meet, and founded the influential label Eulogy Recordings.

So plenty of people are glad he was born, and Aces High and Propaganda have put together a bill of the next great South Florida punk bands. There's Radioboxer, the female-led, circus-like act proudly repping Hialeah. On the street side of things, there is Out of Sorts, which even uses the mostly forgotten "Oi!" tag to label its brand of rough-and-ready punk rock. And then there's New Coke — surely ripe for a cease-and-desist — promising a swampy, Gun Club-referencing sound.

More About

Finally, headlining it all is Everymen, one of the best acts on the burgeoning Lake Worth scene. The band's shambling take on punkabilly would make Lux Interior proud, and its frontman has been known to even breathe fire onstage. If there's something the SoFla scene needs more of, it's definitely fire-breathing.
