Let's just get this out of the way: Heidi absolutely never, ever fails to straight-up kill it on the dance floor. One of the leading lights of the Get Physical stable — home of M.A.N.D.Y., Booka Shade, et al. — she was also the label's first female signing. This Berlin-by-way-of-Windsor-Ontario DJ might look sweet and blond, but on the decks, she is fierce, locking into a groove that is both machine-like and funky, and purely inescapable. Heavy on fat bass lines and hooks, her style, owing to her place on Get Physical, is usually nominally called "electro-house." But her sound is rawer than that of many of her label mates; it's based on a soulful, underground vibe — a reminder for your ass that the word house in house music originally came from warehouse.
