And it can't get any sweeter than winning high honors with American Idiot, which was made in the fine tradition of the Who's Tommy, after overcoming a few okay records and several failed romances. The band kick-starts the American leg of its tour at the University of Miami Convocation Center Friday; tickets are way overpriced.
