There was once a time when South Floridians could go to Lollapalooza without buying a plane ticket. In the '90s, Lollapalooza was a traveling music festival where each year, alternative music fans could compare piercings and watch bands from Pearl Jam to the Beastie Boys tear shit up in their own backyard.

In 1992 and 1994, Lollapalooza stopped by Bicentennial Park, the site where PAMM now houses art in downtown Miami. In '96 and '97, Lollapalooza went a little further north, setting up camp at Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre. But since 2005, Lollapalooza has been a stationary festival like Coachella or Ultra. These days, if you want to be a part of it, you have to make a pilgrimage to Grant's Park in Chicago.

This Saturday night, though, South Floridians will be able to get a taste of Lollapalooza without leaving the 305. From 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., EAST, Miami will be live-streaming day three of Lollapalooza's festivities on their fifth-floor pool and deck bar. Those who head to the Brickell hotel can get in a festival frame of mind with flash tattoos by iShine365, a pop-up Braid Bar by GLAMSQUAD, festival-themed nail designs by Vanity Projects, flower crowns provided by Flower Children Only, a photo booth sponsored by the Frank Booth Co., and festival-style food & beverages with Red Bull (the event's sponsor) specialty cocktails.

Acts scheduled to play during Saturday night include Lollapalooza veterans Jane's Addiction (led by Lollapalooza founder and one time North Miami Beach High student Perry Farrell) at 6:30 p.m. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, who headlined Lollapalooza '92, will be taking the stage at 8:30 p.m.

Some of the acts on the smaller stages include New Orleans emo-rockers Mutemath, who will play until 6:15 p.m. Grimes, the Canadian synth-pop singer-songwriter who has earned comparisons to the Knife and Bjork, will be playing from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. UK electronic duo Disclosure has a set from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Also slated are English indie-rockers Two Door Cinema Club and a pair of Brooklyn-based bands, Secret Weapons and St. Lucia.

You can check out which bands will be featured on the live-stream at lollapalooza.com — and the good news is you won't have to redeem any of your frequent flier miles to experience it.

Red Bull presents Lollapalooza Live. 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at EAST, Miami, 788 Brickell Plaza, Miami; 305-712-7000; east-miami.com. Free with RSVP via eventbrite.com
