The Five Most Fashion-Forward Attendees at Funkshion Fashion Week

From Ultra to March Madness to St. Patrick's Day, there was something for everyone this past weekend. But Miami's chicest citizens wouldn't be found anywhere near a muddy outdoor stage in Bayfront Park. Rather, they were at Funkshion Fashion Week. The event hosted parties and shows in the Design District and Wynwood in addition to its Miami Beach hub.

Celebs such as the Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade and Justise Winslow and actor (and Miami native) Blake Jenner made appearances this weekend at one of the many stylish events. Friday night’s Phoenix House show was a blast from the past; it included all things '80s and was inspired by Jenner's newest flick, Everybody Wants Some, directed by Richard Linklater. Saturday's closing-night show featured models dressed in Hamel by designer Melina Harris, which made for a tastefully elegant reception.

But let’s be real: Funkshion isn’t just to see the latest styles by up-and-coming Miami designers such as Simonette Pereira’s Style Mafia and Alessandra Gold’s Kruzin. Rather, it’s a place for the most fashionable to show off their looks. Here are the five best looks from some of Funkshion’s attendees:

5. Flouncy and Flawless
This effortless look is one we wish we could pull off every day. She wears a Club Monaco top, Faithful the Brand pants (yes, those are pants) and Schutz shoes. Her natural, beachy hair and simple makeup tie the look together. Turns out this attendee is actually a designer herself and is coming out with her own swimsuit line this summer.

It helps to stand out when you're part of the Style Mafia. This beauty rocks her "lob" (long bob) in wide-leg Zara trousers, a Missguided top, and Style Mafia red jacket. Her smile accompanied Style Mafia creative director Simonette Pereira to Thursday night’s show.

3. A Dynamic Duo
These two guests were definitely showstoppers. He's a local designer, Jamal Morrison, and she was his arm candy. They each rock Lamaj Collection tees, which are part Morrison's fashion line. Her perfectly fitted mermaid-tail skirt gave the appearance of elongating her frame. But what really makes the twosome stand out is the simplicity of their outfits. Oh, and did we mention he's a designer for the Hamel fashion show?

2. Serbian Princess
Did you think we’d leave out a jumpsuit? This blond bombshell was anything but ordinary in her DVF dual-color onesie and Christian Louboutin stilettos. She complemented the look with an Yves Saint Laurent bag, but her Serbian accent was the cutest.

As an operative at 255 Studio, where Funkshion held its main event, this blondie definitely exudes the Wynwood vibe. She wears a Forever21 crop top and Mango zigzag pants, along with a necklace she made herself. She sat front row at Saturday night’s runway show, where she turned more heads than the models. And he’s the owner of the Design District’s 255 Studio — effortlessly sleek.
