Certain unimaginative, greasy-palmed greedheads think all those old, broken-down buildings lining NE Second Avenue should just be firebombed, shoveled into a dumpster, and replaced with shiny new condos. But there are others, like local artist Autumn Casey, who would rather rescue one dead edifice after another by stuffing them so full of art and friends and fun that the windows break and the roofs pop off. To that end, Casey will stage a one-nighter this Thursday called A Love Affair, In and Out at the Photo Lab Building, a place she describes as both “magical and decrepit.” She’ll be joined by a crew of artist-friends — Jessica Arias, Domingo Castillo, Cynthia Cruz, Cat Dove, Laura Duran, Patti Hernandez, Natalia Manrique, Sleeper, and Connor Williams — and together they’ll all try to commune with the Lab in the name of site-specific installation, performance, and other stuff. You can even expect the garage-y grumble of Lake Worth band Love Handles.
