School Shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High Sends Parkland, Florida, Into Chaos

Wednesday, February 14, 19-year-old former student Nikolas Cruz opened fire on the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School campus in Parkland, Florida. Cruz fled the scene after killing 17 people and injuring many more. The normally quiet Broward County suburb descended into chaos as concerned parents rushed to the school while police cleared the campus. Authorities eventually reunited students with their parents at a staging area at a nearby Marriott hotel.
