Wynwood Brewing Company held its tasting room grand opening yesterday for a lively crowd thirsty for fresh, local beer.
The tasting room's chalkboard proudly proclaims there's "a work of art in every glass", a fitting statement for a brewery located in the Wynwood Arts District to make during their Art Basel week opening.

Indeed, the brewery, which produces several core beers and seasonal offerings, is melding art with the art of beer making. The tasting room, exterior walls -- even part of the brewery itself -- has been turned into a living art gallery with artists working on murals as people sip beer.
The pieces, curated by Yo Miami, with partial funding by the Awesome Foundation, bring the space alive with color.
Luis C. "Pops" Brignoni told Short Order that there's a correlation between Wynwood Brewing's beers and the paintings and sculptures around him. "These people are making art, just as we like to think of our beers as art. We're just using different mediums."
The is one distinct difference -- while you can drink in gallery art with your eyes, you can actually drink Wynwood Brewing's offerings -- and at $6 for a flight of four beers, anyone can afford to be an art lover.
