PB Fish, the new happy-hour pop-up by the Pubbelly boys, launches today atPB Steak
The fish-shack concept will serve affordable seafood dishes and rum cocktails weekdays from 5 to 7 p.m. during PB Steak's happy hour (which has moved from the regular 6 to 8 p.m. time slot to accommodate PB Fish). Last year, the trio -- Andreas Schreiner, Jose Mendin, and Sergio Navarro -- offered a successful Taco Belly pop-up at the steak house.

Chef Jose Mendin, inspired by the seafood joints in his native Puerto Rico, has come up with a menu of raw bar items and casual bites and sandwiches featuring ocean denizens. All items are meant to be paired with rum cocktails, though we suspect a cold beer or a crisp Pinot Grigio would work equally well.
Raw bar items start at a dollar (for East Coast oysters with ponzu mingonette) and include Littleneck clams with green Tabasco sangrita, as well as stone crab claws.
Snacks and sandwiches are priced from $7 to $22 and include fried calamari, a fried clam sandwich with coleslaw and lemon, New England chowder dumplings, seafood croquetas, and miso black cod.
Mendin will also offer a locals' catch of the day, based on whatever Miami fishermen haul in that morning.

"We're so excited to launch this concept," Pubbelly partner Andreas Schreiner told Short Order. "We envision folks coming right off the beach or from a day of paddleboarding and sitting back to have a small bite and cocktail or two as the sun sets over the harbor. It's really a beautiful time to be in and outside of the restaurant, and we wanted to showcase that."
The PB Fish pop-up is expected to run for two to three months.
