Support the independent voice of Miami and help keep the future of New Times free.
Chef Michael Schwartz's cookbook isn't due out for a couple of months but, to coincide with Art Basel, the restaurant is showing a behind-the-scenes look at what went into putting the book together. A short film, produced by the book's photographer, Ben Fink, will be screened at the restaurant's back parking lot starting Thursday. And there will be free tequila.
We're serious. On the inaugural screening day, Casa Dragones will offer complimentary sips of its Blue Agave Joven Tequila for film viewers - while supplies last. With Art Basel going on we wonder how long that will be ...
Anyway, aside from a first look at the book's photographs and
recipes, the film also includes funny outtakes and footage of Schwartz visiting Teena's
Pride farm and fishing with Trigger Seafood.
The film will be screened continuously from 7 p.m. to midnight
Thursday, December 2 through Saturday, December 4, but the free tequila
will only be served on Thursday.
Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Miami with no paywalls.
