Miami's Best Eats and Drinks This Weekend: Wynwood Brewing Turns Two, National Rum Day

Happy Friday! This weekend there's a lot of fun to be had.

Of course, Miami Spice continues offering their $23 lunches and $39 dinners. If you're looking up your culinary game at home, you can get tips from James Beard winner, Michelle Bernstein, at Macy's Aventura. And don't miss the big celebration at Wynwood Brewing for its second birthday.

The weekend starts now!

Michelle Bernstein at Macy's Aventura
Michelle Bernstein is making an appearance at Macy's Home Store at Aventura Mall tonight, August 14, at 6 p.m. The chef will share stories and cooking tips. Plus, if you spend $34 or more at the Macy's home department, you'll receive a $10 Macy's gift card and a copy of Bernstein's Cuisine A Latina — which the chef will autograph for you after the presentation.

The event is free and open to the public. To attend, RSVP at michellebernsteinaventurademo.eventbrite.com

Wynwood Brewing Turns Two
Wynwood Brewing Company is throwing a birthday bash to celebrate its second anniversary on Saturday, August 15. From noon to 11 p.m., there will be live music, artists, food trucks, and some really great beer. The brewery will tap kegs throughout the day at three different beer stations. Drink tickets will be sold for $5 each, and the brewery will take cash and credit cards. Each ticket gets you one pour of Wynwood's signature brews, special treatments, and guest beers. One beer will be served per person, and outside beverages are not allowed. Because of the sheer volume of beer being poured, the brewery will not serve flights or fill growlers on Saturday.

The party spills out into the street, and kids are allowed until 7 p.m. (Your four-legged friends are welcome to join you outside.) Of course, you have to be 21 and over to purchase and drink beer, so bring your ID. A stage will be set up with live bands and live vinyl DJ sets. There's also a featured artist showcase by Insano from Panama and a pop-up photo booth.

If you're hungry, food trucks will be on site including MV My Food Truck, Purple People Eatery, the Original Greek, Monstah Lobstah, Sparky's Roadside Barbecue, and Liquid Ice Cream.
