Happy Memorial Day, Miami. Give yourself a break and head to the beach, where thousands of other locals and tourists will spend today.

Meat Market's summer dinner series returns this week, along with the kick-off of Coral Gables Restaurant Week. Thursday is National Doughnut Day, and everyone's favorite doughnut shop the Salty Donut has joined forces with the Anderson and J. Wakefield to celebrate the sweet-filled holiday.
Memorial Day
Grab a cooler and spend the day at the beach as the forecast predicts sunny skies and warm temperatures throughout the day. New Times compiled a list of the best Memorial Day parties around town. Some have already happened, but a handful take place sometime today.
Battle Ball Royale at the Wynwood Yard
On Tuesday night, slip on a battle ball suit and get ready to compete as you smash into one another, battle royale style. One ticket includes two rounds of play and a choice of snack from one of the Yard’s resident food concepts including a single-topping ice cream from Mr. Bing, KFC Korean fried chicken from Bird & Bone, a battle bowl from Della Test Kitchen, or a beer from Mortar & Pistil. Tickets and more information are available at eventbite.com
Summer Dinner Series at Meat Market
The Lincoln Road steakhouse launches its summer dinner series on Wednesday night with a four-course meal paired with various cocktails. Priced at $85 per person, this is the first of three pairing dinners at Meat Market this season. Menu items include miso-marinated cod, Buffalo short rib, and lemon and bittersweet chocolate tartlet. Dinner begins at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 305-532-0088.
Coral Gables Restaurant Week Kick-Off
Taste of the Gables will kick off Coral Gables' ninth-annual restaurant week on Thursday night. The one-night-only event, inside the Westin Colonnade Hotel, offers samples from 20 different restaurants, which will then offer prix-fixe menus for the following three weeks. Expect eats from restaurants including Bulla Gastrobar, Cibo Wine Bar, Swine, the Local, and Trust & Co. The kick-off begins at 6:30 p.m. and is priced at $100 per person. National Doughnut Day
On Thursday, celebrate the hole-in-a-dough craze with the Salty Donut's doughnut and cocktail pairings at the Anderson, where the two will host a sweet-centric soiree. Einsteins is delivering free bagels from 9 a.m. to noon to customers who order through Uber, too.
