Not just any garage sale, but the "Everything But the Kitchen Sink" Garage Sale, and it will take place the last Saturday of the month, January 30. Les Dames d' Escoffier -- which if you don't know is an invitation-only organization of women leaders in the food, beverage, and hospitality industries whose mission is education, advocacy, and philanthropy -- have gathered a whole lotta kitchen equipment for a garage sale that will help provide student scholarships to women seeking careers in the industry.

Items for sale won't be just a bunch of crusty castoffs, but will

include appliances used in test kitchens -- mixers, blenders, food

processors, pans, and bake ware -- plus dishes, wineglasses, kitchen

supplies, and cookbooks. Seriously, it's looking like an ideal

place to pick up that muffin tin you've been dreaming of. Or whatever.

The

broads -- um, Les Dames -- ask that you come by, strike up a

conversation, and check out the wares. Here's all you need to know:

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Miami with no paywalls.
