Friday is only a day away, and you and your co-workers are already trying to figure out where to celebrate the end of yet another workweek. The problem is finding a place that's new and affordable.

How about free -- as in free drinks courtesy of Miami New Times?

This Friday, March 29, from 7 to 9 p.m., come out to New Times' happy-hour app party at Shots Miami, the Magic City's first truly interactive bar.

During our happy-hour celebration, enjoy free drinks and $3 special shots. High rollers can celebrate with $100 bottles (you know, to make your own shots).

All you have to do to get in on the fun is download New Times' awesome Happy Hours app and show it at the door. It turns your smartphone into a secret password and ultra-exclusive key all at the same time.

The app is free; available for iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry; and allows you to search for happy hours by venue, location, or cuisine. The app tells you the best happy-hour deals, saving you and your buddies valuable time that could be better spent having fun.

Here's the app at work. Pretty cool, huh? We'll see you at happy hour.

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Miami with no paywalls.
