Can you believe it's playoff time again? And, of course, the Miami Heat are in it to win it.

The Heat will open the 2013 NBA Playoffs against the Milwaukee

Bucks at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, at American Airlines Arena, starting yet another quest for basketball domination.

But why wait until Sunday to celebrate our home team? We say break out the Heat jersey early (like, right now) and drop into Smashburger in North Miami or Kendall for a free burger with the purchase of a side.

That's right today and today only, April 18, from 2 to 6 p.m., just walk into Smashburger

wearing your Heat jersey and you'll be rewarded with a free

regular-size Miami burger, made with 100 percent certified Angus beef, topped

with grilled Spanish chorizo, frita potatoes, aged Swiss cheese,

lettuce, tomato, onion, and spicy chipotle mayo on a Cuban roll, when

you buy any side (because you know you've got to have some fries with

that, anyway).

The offer is good at the following Miami-Dade Smashburger locations:

  • Kendall - 9109 SW 107th Avenue, Space 340
  • North Miami - 14730 Biscayne Boulevard

Keep Miami New Times Free... Since we started Miami New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Miami, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
