If the truck or the owners look familiar, you've seen them around before. Crepes Outdoor is the former Wing Commander. Owners Bill and Allison Cosens changed the truck's concept from wings to crepes, mainly to beat the heat.

"Our wings were awesome. They were the best in Miami, hands down," Cosens said, "but when you have two fryers and two grills going, there's no way that even two air conditioners can help."

A crepe concept was actually their first truck idea, and when the Cosens

started Wing Commander, friends and family were initially surprised

that they went with "wings." Crepe Outdoors brings the couple's food

truck business full circle.

The truck has been redesigned, with a

colorful graffiti-inspired motif. "We wanted to use every color in the

art store, to make the design look urban but tropical," Cosens said.

Each

crepe is named after a friend or family member. Allie's Comfort Food

($7) is a savory blend of blue cheese, carmelized onions, and bacon.

Quinn's Hunger Quencher ($9), named for the couple's son, is filled

with Angus steak, select goat cheese, carmelized onion, sautéed

mushrooms, and special sauce. Bill's Big Bite ($6) is a sweet treat

with cheesecake filling and a choice of Nutella or berry purée. Lala's

Lovely ($5), named for daughter Lauren, blends Nutella and peanut

butter in a warm crepe. Many other crepes are available -- all well

under $10. Crepe Outdoors will be at BTTR tonight, so stop by and try a crepe.
