Christy's in Coral Gables Offers $35 Dining Special

In 1978, Woody Allen's Annie Hall won Best Picture, a pound of bacon cost about a dollar, and Christy's restaurant opened in Coral Gables.

In short, it was a very good year.

35 years later, the iconic corner restaurant is celebrating its birthday, and it wants you to join in the fun.

This month you can try some of Christy's most popular dishes for only $35. You can also choose from a selection of top quality wines for $35 per bottle.

In the past years, Bill Clinton, Alex Rodriguez, and Eddie Murphy have all dined at this Coral Gables mainstay. Tiger Woods won the Doral Open the day after he dined there. And during his visit, Michael Jordan asked to meet the entire kitchen staff.

"As Michael Jordan walked into the restaurant, guests asked for autographs and pictures, but he declined the requests. At the end of the meal, he asked to meet the kitchen staff and thank them for such a great meal. He was escorted to the kitchen where he shook hands with the back of the house staff and thanked the team," explains Chris Klaic, operating manager of the restaurant.

Christy's may be the type of place to spot pro-ballers, respected actors, and famed politicians, but it's not the type of place to spot a Kardashian. It's traditional -- and sometimes that's a good thing.

So for their birthday, enjoy the 8-ounce filet mignon (usually $42), herb-crusted sea bass (usually $38), and rack of lamb (usually $48) for $35 now through the end of the month.
