Boulud's Daniel: My French Cuisine Book Signing and Recipe-Inspired Lunch This Saturday at DB Bistro Moderne

Today kicks off the most exciting weekend of the year in food. Thousands of visitors will make their way to the Magic City to eat, drink, and partake in revelry with the nation's top culinary toques.

But in case that's not enough, Daniel Boulud is giving foodies another reason: an exclusive meet-and-greet, book signing, and four-course prix fixe hosted by the French restaurateur himself.

This Saturday, February 22, Boulud will sign copies of his latest and eighth book, Daniel: My French Cuisine at his Miami outpost, DB Bistro Moderne. There's a catch, though. The reception/book signing isn't open to the public, only to those who purchase the book, which will be available onsite. It'll set you back $40 (a discount from the regular $60), but you can't put a price on getting a book signed by the forefather of French cuisine and the chance to ask him for some cooking advice in person.

If you make the trip, buy the book, and chat with the chef, you'll definitely want to stay for lunch, which begins at noon and features four dishes straight from your newest cookbook. The real gift is that Boulud, along with executive chef Jason Pringle and the rest of the DB Bistro Moderne team, will cook your very French meal.

You'll start off with a wild mushroom tarte flambée, continue with a modern salad Lyonnaise (the French town from which Daniel hails), proceed with a loup de mer on herbs de provençe and citrus salt, and end with a tart normande.

The only downside is that after tasting these dishes straight from the source, you'll probably never be quite able to replicate them at home. But in his introduction to Daniel: My French Cuisine, the chef states quite the opposite: " I didn't want to keep any details from you by trying to make things simpler. You can decide how inspired you want to be: to make the whole recipe or just the main protein, or perhaps only the vegetable garnish."

Book copies are limited, as are seats for the lunch. Ticket sales end tomorrow afternoon, so hurry and get yours here while they last.

Lunch is Saturday, February 22, at noon and costs $93 per person including a wine pairing. If you opt not to drink, lunch costs $55. Tax and gratuity are additional.
