Every day he has the blues, and a hundred and some-odd days from now he'll be bringing them to CityPlace. "He" is Riley B. King, aka Beale Street Blues Boy, aka Blues Boy King, aka B.B. King, and the fourth of his B.B. King's Blues Clubs is slated to occupy the space now home to Legal Sea Foods as of October.
A pair of stages will fill your ears with acoustic and electric blues, R&B and soul from the likes of Preston Shannon, Charlie Musselwhite, the B.B. King All-Star Band and even the man himself. At 83, B.B. doesn't get down quite like he used to, but he is a living embodiment of one of America's great indigenous art forms.
While B.B.'s boys are filling your ears, B.B.'s kitchen will fill your stomach with hearty Southern and Creole cooking, from fried green tomatoes and barbecue to gumbo and catfish po' boys, all washed down with a selection of draft beers and signature cocktails. I mean, how blue can you get?
