These immortal words supposedly spoken by Marie Antoinette still live on today, but now we can take them literally. On July 14, 1789, inspired by the American revolution, the French people finally rose up against King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, stormed the Bastille, and kicked the aristocracy out on their rich asses. Celebrate this victoire du peuple by eating an inexpensive, delicious French meal at one of these Miami locales on Monday.

The Cafe will also be celebrating Bastille day with a special menu by Julien Herrisson. In true European fashion, A La Folie is also having a $20 all-you-can-drink wine and beer special. Dejeuner is literally translated as "to breakfast" or "to lunch" in French. There's no place to get a better petit-dejeuner than at Buena Vista Deli. Any French staple can be found at this casual eatery, but try the blueberry tart (or any tart, for that matter). You also cannot go wrong with a quiche and salad combination. They also opened up a specialty chocolate and wine shop next door, where each bonbon costs $1.50.
Get your independence on at the aptly named Cafe Bastille, which evokes Parisian chicness in the heart of downtown Miami. Here, you can get a sweet or savory crepe with anything your heart desires. In addition to the extensive crêpe menu, the restaurant offers more traditional bistro fare such as escargots ($8.50), Niçoise salad ($8.50), steak frites ($16), and moules marinières ($13).
A sandwich is a universally understood concept, and it was arguably perfected by the French people. If you are perchance craving a late-night croque-monsieur, La Sandwicherie is the place to go -- it's open daily until 5 a.m., making it a favorite Brickell stop after a long night of partying like it's 1789. Try any of their fresh, oversized sandwiches on French bread which they will toast to perfection. You can also come for breakfast, or really any time during the day. The menu also features a variety of smoothies and juices to go with your sandwich.
Meats and cheeses are basically the foundation of French fare, but the nice people at Eden in Eden have made it possible for vegan and vegetarians to enjoy the deliciousness of French cuisine. The restaurant prepares French classics like the croque-monsieur sandwich ($8.70) and quiches without the use of cream, butter, and cheese. Ingredients are fresh and organic, so you can still eat here while being healthy.
