Which tapas are our favorites? Take your pick. That's what we do when we go to Xixón. Catalan cured pork sausage? Pata negra ham? White anchovies, hunks of grilled octopus, codfish pâté in garlic sauce? Can't go wrong. Creamy codfish or chicken croquetas are great too, as are slices of chorizo a la sidra, littleneck clams in garlicky parsley sauce, and whole sardines lightly fried. Tortilla española, veal cheek stew, codfish with potatoes and shrimp sauce (in photo) head our hit list as well. Selections run $2 to $11. A few thousand bottles of wine, dispensed via an enomatic system into one-shot, half-glass, and two-glass pours should be enough to wet your whistle while you traipse amongst the top-notch tapas.
