A dish that requires a leap of faith, as it tastes nothing like what the name implies. The "rice" component tastes more like a creamy risotto that's been deep-fried, to hold in all the really important parts. This beauty is filled with salty chunks of chorizo, sweet local rock shrimp and manchego cheese ($14). Chef Schwartz serves it with a side of spicy tomato aioli that he whips up from scratch, of course. He then tops it with a farm fresh egg, sunny-side up, so all that runny goodness seeps into the "rice cake" below. The components blend together superbly; a crave-worthy plate day or night.
