It's only fitting these seven sins serve as inspiration for a new South Beach spot.
Vice Kitchen + Bar, formerly Jezebel, opened this week on Michigan Avenue. As the name suggests, Vice offers food and drinks with a distinctly indulgent flair.
Though greed is one of the vices emulated at the restaurant, it's not the driving factor in setting Vice's pricing, according to managing partner Milan Djordjevic, who wants to create a solid neighborhood bar in the Lincoln Road area. "Between serving great cocktails and an excellent meal for $20, we want to become a vice for Miami — the city won’t be able to resist.”
The 40-seat space, decorated with distressed leather couches, TV screens, and brass shelving, serves comfort food in an upscale sports bar setting. Diners can tap into their inner glutton through dishes such as disco fries
topped with slow-braised short rib, Vermont cheddar, mushroom gravy, and pickled jalapeños ($12); jalapeño, bacon, and cheddar corn dogs ($9); and a roast pulled-pork sandwich with aged provolone, horseradish sauce, and hot peppers served on a toasted Sullivan Street Bakery doppio ($14).
In keeping with the theme, cocktails are named for the seven deadly sins, such as Greed, made with Ilegal mezcal
To celebrate its grand opening (and the vices of greed, lust, pride, and envy), the bar will host a special party, Cinderella's Night Out, next Thursday, January 31. Ladies can sip free margaritas and half-priced cocktails from 6 to 10 p.m. At the stroke of midnight, Vice will give away one pair of iconic Christian Louboutin shoes in a raffle. Raffle tickets will be given away with drink purchases.
