Chef Cooks Your Meal At Fleming's: A Limited Time Offer!
As reported by Short Order yesterday,
Ricardo Wilson, the new chef/partner at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and
Wine Bar in Coral Gables, is a vegetarian who thinks that "most chefs
are fat and lazy". Some may be disturbed by a steakhouse chef not
eating meat, others by a chef making sweeping and inaccurate statements
about other chefs. But I saw a different red flag go up: Wilson is a
martial arts practitioner, and "still teaches several nights a week".
Dinner for two at Fleming's, with wine, will generally run $200 to $300
dollars -- and the "chef/partner", who one would assume has some
responsibility towards that meal you are paying that money for, is out
of the kitchen and off of the premises playing kung fu? That, in a
nutshell, is why you should avoid dining at corporate-owned chains.
Healthy Food at Rosa Mexicano: A Limited Time Offer!
As reported at Eater Miami yesterday, Rosa Mexicano will be featuring a new "Healthy & Organic" menu that will be available starting today and running through June 13.
Starting on June 14, Rosa Mexicano will presumably go back to promoting its unhealthy, non-organic menu.
