Update: Tonight's food truck roundup has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
If you're in the mood to try a new food truck or two, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is hosting two trucks from out west -- and by out west, we mean Tampa. Greek Brothers and Wicked Wiches are in town for the weekend, in part to celebrate food blogger Burger Beast's truck tracking app. (More news on that tomorrow.)
Greek Brothers is a relatively new truck, hailing from Tarpon Springs. They serve authentic Greek gyros, pork souvlakia and kebabs.
We love the name Wicked 'Wiches
and their pitchfork logo. The truck features sandwiches "so good
they're sinful" -- like the smoked ruben and grilled veggie with goat
cheese and hummus (both $7.50). We're intrigued by the Texas sandwich,
which includes Dr. Pepper slow roasted brisket and bourbon onions
($7.50).
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is setting up video games on a
giant screen for their food truck rally, with a new theme featured each
week. Tonight go retro with some Mario Brothers' Mario Kart and Mario
Party Games.
Tonight's food truck roundup features more than two dozen trucks, live entertainment, and the opportunity
to lose your rent money on Sex and The City slot machines. Trucks serving from 5:30 to 10 p.m. include B.C. Tacos, Big Kahuna, Che Grill, CheeseMe, Churro Mania, Daddy's Grill, Dim Ssam a Gogo, Dog Eat Dog, Dolci Peccati, The Fish Box, The Flying Saucer, The Frita Man, gastroPod, Greek Brothers, Guiseppe's Italian Sausage, Jefe's Original Fish Taco, Latin Burger, Mangia Mia, Miso Hungry, Moty's Grill, Mr. Good Stuff, Ms. Cheezious, Nacho Mama's, Purple People Eatery, The Red Koi, The Rolling Stove, Sugar Rush, Wicked Wiches, and Yellow Submarine.
