In addition to the usual taco or meatball hero, the good truckers at BTTR are inviting you to take a bite out of crime this evening, when the City of North Miami and Johnson & Wales University hosts National Night Out.

Every year, thousands of communities around the United States and Canada hold National Night Out events to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and enhance neighborhood spirit. Last year, more than 37 million people participated.

For North Miami's edition tonight, more than two dozen food trucks serve dinner from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Activities -- including live music by Night Breeze, games, exhibits, visits from local police officers, giveaways, and (our favorite) a special appearance from McGruff the crime fighting dog -- start at 6 p.m.
