We checked in with Developers Diversified, the folks in charge, among other things, of stocking Miami's fastest growing neighborhood with new restaurants, to see what was coming up. The spokesperson let us know that they were "excited to announce the opening of Egyptian Pizza Kitchen and Hurricane Grill & Wings this fall".
Excited seems like a strong word for these joints.
Locals will be familiar with Hurricane from its' numerous South Florida
locations. The fast/casual restaurant specializes in buffalo chicken
wings, but also serves salads, sandwiches, burgers, and other
well-priced family-oriented snacks. Egyptian Pizza uses a wood burning
oven for its pies, and the fast/casual restaurant also serves salads,
sandwiches, burgers, and, um, buffalo chicken wings, along with other
well-priced family-oriented snacks.
Developers Diversified doesn't seem to be offering much diversity in
its latest developments.
And after bringing in interesting places such
as Sakaya, Sugarcane, and The Cheese Course, Midtown is taking a disappointing turn by going with typical shopping mall food court junk.
