Dinner with Friends at Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill is an event that every foodie must experience at least once. Fortunately, this coming Monday, December 17, Sugarcane will once again delight a small group of diners to a gastronomic gala. Unfortunately, it will be the last DwF of the year.

We attended a Dinner with Friends event last month and were blown away by the experience. Guest celeb chef Hedy Goldsmith teamed up with Sugarcane's Timon Balloo and presented several courses to our group of twelve. Each course paired with a different wine and both the alcohol and food did their jobs - diners felt satiated and content.

This Monday, Clay Conley takes the role of guest chef alongside Timon. Nominated for the James Beard this year, Conley owns Buccan and Imoto in Palm Beach and is the former executive chef of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel's award-winning restaurant, Azul.

Says Conley of the upcoming DwF, "Having worked in Miami for several years it's always nice to come back and work with one of my favorite Miami chefs. I also have a few of my old regulars coming to the dinner and it will be nice to reconnect."

Apart from the food and wine, the finest aspect of DwF is that the chefs come out to speak to the small group, explaining each course and the thought process behind ingredient selection, sometimes even sitting down for a short chat and posing for pictures. The fact that the group is small makes for an intimate, exclusive dining experience, one that practically guarantees several new friends by the end of the evening.

Although part of the experience is not knowing what to expect, we applied a little torture pressure and got a few teases for you. There may or may not be olive oil poached, cured hamachi with kumquats and muzzuna, and scallop tortellini, wild mushrooms, and black truffle nage.

Bring friends and make new ones at Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill for Dinner with Friends this Monday, December 17, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $110. Email [email protected].
